"Cleansing the Pain and More"
Care, Concern, and Peace of Mind is what Bio Cleaning Services of America, Inc. provides. The company provides this through the work they perform for their clients. From the beginning the founders Don M. & Laura McNulty have thought their work to be a ministry. "Even if you don't place a religious meaning to the word 'ministry' the definition still means "the act of helping others," says McNulty. Now nearly 60, McNulty and his wife who both grew up in the Kansas City area, have spent almost two decades helping families and businesses with tragedy, and problems thought too gruesome or too gross for normal cleaning or remediation. The company's motto has been "No one should be victimized twice," McNulty reports, "I'm asked almost daily how can I do my job? I quickly tell them, I love my job! Everyday I get to help people in need, and in most cases our company is the only one available." A reporter once wrote about this team of experts is that they "cleanse the pain!" The pain we cleanse is the thought of having to do the work yourself. Placing yourself in the scene where a loved has passed away can cause all sorts of stress and stress related illnesses that can develop later.
The company has built a system to professionally train our technicians in all the proper safety measures and remediation standards for the industry. Bio Cleaning Services has a sense of the ministry McNulty adheres too. The USP (Unique Selling Position) Care, Concern, and Peace of Mind, is placed everywhere - in the office, on the advertising, next to the company logo, on the shirts the technicians wear, on the trucks, even on billboards - it is a mantra that proceeds from McNulty's mouth every chance he gets. "Many people have tried to use our USP, but it's a trademark for our company and we protect that trademark religiously", McNulty says, "It tells people 'we're here for them, to stand by them, to help them when they need it most' - it really is our driving force." Passionate about their work, to say the least, bordering on evangelistic, Laura the co-founder and wife of Don works in the office on a daily basis. "I've never been to a scene and I never want to go", says Laura, who is a quiet and gracious woman that works beside her husband everyday. "Don and I are together almost 24 hours a day, almost everyday, unless he has to be out of town. We never argue and we enjoy one another's company. I'm here to support Don in our business and do what I can. It's where I can be the best help to what we do." "She's much more than that", McNulty interjected, "She helps with my debriefings, counsels with our clients, and really keeps this place running." The debriefings Don spoke of, what's that all about? I asked. Laura explained, "Don and our technicians suffer form CISS (Critical Incident Stress Syndrome) from time to time. It's similar to Post Secondary Traumatic Syndrome you hear about with soldiers, but they (technicians) get it from being involved with some of these horrific scenes. The stress of seeing a death scene of a child, or a senseless homicide, and dealing all day long with bereaved families." CISS can be a debilitating disorder and if not properly dealt with can cause many problems for those who suffer from it. Bio Cleaning Services handles the Greater St. Louis Area in Missouri and will serve 11 bordering counties in Illinois. "We used to handle the St. Louis market from our Kansas City office", explains McNulty, "but it got to much to handle. So we pulled out three years ago to better establish the Kansas City office." McNulty reported they still receive about 12 to 15 calls per year from St. Louis and decided to open an office there. "After all, that was the original plan all along." McNulty said, The McNultys envision a large networked company serving major Mecca's throughout the United States, "Quite frankly, I don't believe anyone can do this better than we can", says McNulty, "we're on a mission to help serve communities. We were the first to dedicate a company to this task of bio cleaning (biorecovery or CTS) and feel its a calling." A consultant of McNulty's said, "Don certainly has the ability to build and operate a national company. His years of entrepreneurialism, business ownership, and management has given him the acuity, acumen, and wisdom to put it all together...I'm glad to be a part of it."
Testimonials given to Bio Cleaning Services from various clients.
From Naomi who lives in Kansas City, MO, "We called Bio Cleaning Services to come and do a clean up here. It wasn't cheap, but no one could have been nicer to our family. Don and his crew helped out in so any ways for days after the scene was clean. We just wanted to write and thank you for the much needed help." "Mr. McNulty was so helpful with our situation. He made sure the trucks were not over marked. I didn't know what to expect...but they were some of the most professional people we've worked with."
"This is the second time my family had to call Bio Cleaning Services. The first time was from an accident involving my husband and the second was my brother-in-law who committed suicide just two years later. I can't believe we would have to use them (Bio Cleaning Services) twice, but I'm so glad they're here to call."
It is with pleasure that I write this letter of praise to you and to your staff at Bio Cleaning Services of America. You saved the day for a family that was devastated by the horrific mess that was left behind from a tragic death that occurred in their home. The loss of their loved one was enough to scar them emotionally for life, but to have biohazards left behind and ultimately for them to clean up is disturbing for anyone. Your staff responded promptly and was able to provide the family with a ball park figure for cleaning up the mess, even offering to work with their homeowners insurance on the payment. Customer service is paramount under these circumstances. The family was very pleased and called me to let me know, should others need your services. Keep up the good work."
